Yes!! There will be a Saab Owners’ Convention in 2021! July 15-17, 2021, at the Desmond Hotel in Albany, NY.
Hosted at a different site every year, this long-running annual convention brings together Saab owners, enthusiasts, servicers, and all things Saab. The weekend is packed full of social events, educational panels, contests/competitions, meals, swap meets, and other fun activities.
Located in beautiful upstate New York, the Desmond Hotel is consistently voted among the city’s finest. Built in 1974 it has been completely renovated just in time for our visit. We are back by popular demand, because we had such a good time here at the Saab Owners’ Convention 2013.
For those coming from further afield, the Desmond is conveniently located just one mile from the Albany International Airport (ALB).
We are also hosting an exciting, optional track event on Thursday, July 15. Drive your own Saab on the 2.1-mile, 18-turn road track at New York Safety Track. This will have its own event registration page, see below. The convention proper starts at The Desmond with the Sponsor Appreciation Dinner on Thursday evening.
SOC 2021 event registration is open! Note: only the first person in the transaction needs to be an SCNA member, and you can add a trial membership on the spot. After you fill in all the details for the first person, hit Save Registrant, and then in the pop-up you can Add Another Registrant (up to 10) or Continue to Billing.

We will also have a Thursday track event this year, at the New York Safety Track, in Harpersfield, NY, a little over an hour west of the Desmond. Registration for the track event is open now [advance registration is now closed, but come to the registration desk in person and we can get you in with an Event Pass]; also separate from the Convention and the hotel rooms. Plan to arrive at the track at 9:00 am EDT; a group will be leaving from the Desmond at about 8:30 to arrive at 10:00.
If you made hotel reservations at The Desmond for SOC 2020 the hotel has automatically transferred your reservation to the corresponding dates in 2021. If you want to make changes or make a new reservation please call Jack Roddy at The Desmond at +1 518 640 6077, and tell them you’re with the Saab Convention so you still get our discounted rate and we get credit for it.
We are closely following the changing Covid-19 situation in New York, as are our partners at The Desmond. Of course we will comply with all laws and regulations, and we will adhere to all applicable, official public-health guidelines. We are confident that, by July, things will be normal enough that we can hold our Convention with a minimum of changes to accommodate the restrictions. We have modified our refund policy accordingly, and even extended the early-bird discount until June 15th.
