President’s Letter

Dear SCNA Members,

We are pleased to present this special issue of 9s magazine featuring photos from our recent Saab Owners’ Convention at the Desmond Hotel in Albany, New York. We had one of the strongest turnouts ever this year, with approximately 350 cars and more than 650 people visiting the showfield throughout the weekend.

Part of what makes these events so special is the willingness of fans to roll up their sleeves and help one another. With this many vehicles driving thousands of miles to attend, there are bound to be a few mechanical problems along the way. It is members like Ryan Engler (pictured), Al Huseman, and many others who take the time to troubleshoot and solve problems. On behalf of the entire SCNA Board, I want to thank Ryan, Al, and all of the many members who went out of their way to make sure so many people could enjoy SOC 2021.

Saabs have always been engineered to be safe and economical while also being performance–and driver– oriented. For over 30 years, the Saab brand has inspired a group of devoted owners to get together in order to share, learn, and enjoy these amazing cars. Even ten years after the end of production (for the US at least) with MY 2011, the styling of the final models remains contemporary providing yet another example of Saab being a design leader.

This collector’s issue of 9s is provided to registered attendees as well as SCNA members. Enjoy this in addition to our quarterly magazine, and also check out our YouTube channel saabclub.com/youtube for links to videos posted by Jacob Pretzman of Auto Autopsy.

While we were unable to welcome our friends from Canada or Europe this year, we look forward to having you join us in 2022 at the Saab Heritage Museum in Sturgis, SD.

Thank you,

Sanford Bogage

President, Saab Club of North America
