SCNA President’s Letter by Michelle Baxter

Hello Fellow SAABers!
The summer is in full swing, and car season has been amazing this year. We just got back from Saabs@Carlisle, and as always, it was an amazing show! Central Penn Saab Club won the biggest car club yet again. I know that there were several other events going on across the country at the same time. All were amazing, and all are on my bucket list. It is really hard to keep up with all of the events going on. We know how much you want to know about the upcoming events too, so on the website there is now a calendar to keep up with SAAB Happenins’ across the US. If you know of an event in your area, there is even a form to use to add it to our calendar! Take a few minutes to go over to the website and see what changes we have made to help keep you in the know.

Change seems to be the theme for this year’s Board. We have made several of them to make sure
that our club is strong, viable, and a good resource of information for all things SAAB in the
US. The Board would love to have the time to show you everything that we have done. Many of
these programs and initiatives will be announced at the convention this year. If you can’t make
it to Space Camp with us, don’t worry! We will be going in depth about our changes after the
convention through 9s, our website, our YouTube channel, and MailChimp.

This group of Board members is pretty amazing at getting things done. With a group of over 20
people, we keep knocking things out of the park that would have been impossible to accomplish
in years past. Not that the prior Board wasn’t working overtime to keep things moving forward,
but that there were not enough people to accomplish much outside of hosting SOC. By expanding
the Board, we now have enough people to complete the goals necessary to deepen the scope of
what SCNA can do for you and your local Saab Club. So think of SCNA as not only hosting SOC,
but being there to help you host local events in your area. With all the changes, we are looking
to expand again, but in a different way.

We need YOU! Yes, YOU! to help us move forward with the initiatives that we have started.
We have more we want to do, and now we need the community to step up and be a part of one
of the committees that we have been working on to further the agenda of the club. Please reach
out to info@saabclub.com if you feel the drive to delve deeper into the community by joining
a committee. Your participation will help shape the club for years to come, and who wouldn’t
want that chance? Just a little bit of time, and a whole lot of effort can go a long way in keeping
our SAABs, and our community, on the road!

I hope to see you at one of our local Saab Club events across the US!

Until then—Keep on SAABin!

Shelly Baxter
