TORONTO – Saab Cars North America (SCNA) announced today the company’s intent to re-establish distribution of Saab vehicles into the Canadian marketplace beginning with 2011 model year vehicles. In conjunction with International Fleet Sales, SCNA will manage importation and sales distribution of the premium vehicles throughout Canada. Approximately 20 dealers are interested in the opportunity to continuing selling the luxury brand.

“Saab Cars North America is proud to have successfully reached a memorandum of understanding/tentative agreement with International Fleet Sales and the creation of a dealer infrastructure to begin providing high-quality, stylish and trendy Saab vehicles into the Canadian marketplace.” said Mike Colleran, President and COO, Saab Cars North America. “This action will secure the value of current Saab vehicles and offers previously terminated dealer’s employment opportunities within their respective territory.”

An exciting line-up of Saab vehicles will arrive later this fall to dealer showrooms in Canada. The vehicles maintain their rich Swedish heritage and premium engineering, styling and performance capabilities. An all-new Saab 9-3X premium cross-over has been added to the Saab line-up – the 9-3 sport sedan, 9-3 sportCombi and the 9-3 convertible as well as the all-new 9-5 sedan. Vehicle pricing will be released in the near term.

SCNA is working with General Motors Acceptance Corporation (GMAC) to have a leasing option in-place for start of 2011 model year sales.
